The natural gaz was widely used and didn't have the inconvenient of the gazogene (Heavy and slow to start) but they didn't have a big autonomy -no more than a 100km-Methane and acetylene were also used as fuel but were dangerous and were rapidly difficult to find.As for the gazogene they were used all other Europe and by the Germans as well.
